FAS Android Emulators Comparison [Blustacks, Andy, and Genymotion]

In my previous post, I introduced three android emulators that you can use with your computer namely Bluestacks, Andy, and Genymotion.

"Why should I bother for an android emulator if I got a perfectly working device to play the game?", you might ask. Everyone got their own reasons why they want to use an emulator instead of just using their own device. Like for example in my case, I don't want to overwork my phone over a game. As far as I know, mobile phones are not yet built to withstand the long hours of gaming experience. In addition, I like multi-tasking. Taken for example, I am writing this post while the game is just on the other side of the screen playing on its own. :P
Multi-tasking is also the reason why I am a big fan of "auto-play" and "auto-skill". ( ̄▽ ̄) Not taking into consideration how lazy I am to do manual play. (゜ε゜ )

Anyway, enough chit-chat, here are my own comments and experiences with these three emulators.

  • Bluestacks
    • When I first installed Bluestacks before, I really can't recall specifically why I uninstalled it and looked for another emulator.
    • The current Bluestacks version as of this posting is 0.9.17, hence this review will be based on that version.
    • Gameplay is smooth all throughout FAS. No lag in arena, dungeons, and most especially in TZ! (≧◡≦) Yeap! You read it right. No crash and no lag even for TZ 4 and TZ 5 in Hard mode. No matter how many time-piggies you exterminate!
      ( ´-ω・)︻┻┳══━一     (◉Θ◉)
    • The only inconvenience that I am having right now is the login process. Your login details won't be saved in Bluestacks. You have to login every single time you want to play. Sometimes the game crashes every time you login. (*x_x) There will be times that no matter how many times I restart BlueStacks and my computer, it won't let me push through. Hence, it leaves me no choice but to reinstall the game. (ノ>_<)ノ︵ /(.□ . \)
  • Andyroid (Andy)
    • When I posted the installation tutorial for Andy, it was version 0.42 and it was working fine. Gameplay was smooth for dungeon and arena. But there are instances where it experiences some "connection issues" in arena. During those times, I don't have yet an efficient set of 7☆ heroes to last long in TZ 4 and TZ 5 in Hard mode. So I honestly wasn't able to test how long it can withstand TZ.
    • Currently, Andy is now running on 0.43. It seems that after the software update, it won't let me play FAS anymore. And I'm just stucked on the loading screen of the game. I already made a post on Andy's FB Support Group, and apparently FAS suddenly became an incompatible app for Andy. (¬_¬)
    • So yes. No need to bother yourself in trying out Andy if you're planning to play FAS on it.
  • Genymotion
    • Just like Andy, Genymotion has been updated to version 2.4. When I posted the installation tutorial it was on 2.3. Though luckily, even after the update, I can still run FAS just fine. ( ̄‿ ̄)
    • I tested the game on Samsung Note 2, Google Nexus 4, and Samsung Galaxy S4 as virtual devices. All of them ended up with the same results. Gameplay is smooth for arena and dungeon. But apparently, it didn't solve the the usual game crash/lag for TZ. ( ̄︿ ̄)
    • Installation wise, this would be the most non-friendly among the three. Especially for those non-tech savvy users. (>_<)
My computer is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, 4GB of RAM, and Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT. If you got a better computer, things might work a little better for you. ( ̄‿ ̄)
